This is from Shelby County Indiana:

1835 Cabinet Shop Inventory

It appears to be a probate inventory of the entire household of a farmer/craftsman of the period.  This provides information of the (fair trade) value of items during the early nineteenth century.  These values will vary from prices charged for new items in the same time period, which usually are higher priced.

  1. Where’d they get the typewriter?

Long day up at Weiser, so maybe that’s not as funny as I think it is.

  2. Ken,

The typewriter or typo-grapher was documented in 1829, but this was a transcribe done in the 1970’s on a modern typewriter from the original hand written transcript in the original probate inventory books.

    Fiddling around all day huh?
