New sign for my store front

Filed under: For Sale or Trade,Historical Material,Uncategorized — Stephen Shepherd @ 7:31 am

My friend and new partner in restoration work, George Merrill came up with this new sign that will be up shortly.  For now it is still The Full Chisel Store.

What do you think?

  1. Yes, I like it very much … and assume you are expert at placing the billboard lettering style in time you represent.

When you have that sign transformed from a jpg to a real piece of wood, do you want the red lettering incised or raised?

  2. Bob,

I envision them as raised letters. However it shall remain a mere jpg for the web.

  4. Stephen, Reverse the size of lettering on your sign. No one looks for STORE.. They look for SHEPARDS Store. Just a thought, anyway I like the lettering on the STORE, it reminds me of the lettering on a carnival toy set I had as a child and stands out. The lettering you used for your last name is sort of ho hum and fades into the back ground. Otherwise you’re on the right track.
