Greek Vase
This modern reproduction is from a large collection and this one didn't do well. It is a bisque fired pot with a very porous surface and certain glues would have left stains. I used a modern acetone based cement and carefully applied it so it wouldn't come out the surface.
The first picture shows how I received the broken vase. The second picture shows a band clamp to carefully bring the pieces together, note: linen reinforcements glued to the inside. The third picture shows the use of various woodworking clamps to hold the pieces as the glue dries. The fourth picture shows the completed vase.
